MoS vs PD

Is the reason PD beats MoS money? I notice that the MoS stealth units become very strong (e.g. Submarines beat normal destroyers.) Why is PD considered the OP strategy?

PD main units (60 cost inf) are cheaper than 130 cost MoS marines. Infantry also have better defense, and they get buffed by a general. Since infantry are so much cheaper than marines, more infantry can be spawned than marines with a given amount of money. Because of this spam potential, PD is in general considered better. Then again, I am talking from a 3v3 standpoint, in a world game or RP it is different, since the marines being stealth is a bigger advantage, and you have a much bigger income.

In a game with limited resources, pd is usually better just by how cheap and strong its units are (9 defense inf is insane)

Pd is superior in close range battle
* marine have weak defences
*Mos reuire large income bigger than Pd to sustain them
! Mos have better stat and good at long range battle
!mos can infiltrate enemy

I see. So in world map games with 25-50k MoS would be a good choice, depending on locations.

Who would be a good tutor for both of these strategies?

Also, besides PD, what non-premium strategy(ies) are common and strong

MoS works even in 3k, but you need to play it right. If you're sure you're going into late-game and you can survive/build enough income to start producing marines and subs; then MoS is may just as well overcome PD. PD is far more efficient in low funds though and when you're right next to a PD player you need to make sure you aren't out produced and keep him occupied. Besides PD RA seems to be a strong strategy with funds available, GW is very strong with upgrades such as cheaper and faster marines, but its still playable without. NC works in certain situations obviously. SM is very strong too with AT capacity upgrades, and has very high range and high attack power. Expensive though.

If youve the funds to get the full potential out of mos then itll dominate pd. Stealth strats naturally counter pd. marines have 5 defense vs inf in city, the pd player cant see your offensive units to know where youll attack.
