Our mail server is hosted at Digital Ocean. If you're not familiar with it, Digital Ocean is one of the largest cloud server providers in the United States. In other words, because we happen to use one of the largest providers in the U.S. (with over 2.4 million IP addresses included in this ban, according to them), we are somehow part of the problem and must be punished?

Sue them. I don't know how the US justice system works. But, you could claim lost revenue due to them not letting you advertise, and if you win (which you probably will, because this looks quite shady) they'll pay the court fees (I think that's how it works in the US). But again, I don't know how expensive it will be to take them to court. It seems that UCEPROTECT is no doubt, an extortion scheme. If Microsoft suddenly blacklisted google on it's firewall and then asked for a fee, then they wouldn't even exist anymore.
You should at least report it somewhere (maybe FCC?). You could even try getting a lawyer to see if you can fuck them over somehow, or at least get some perspective.
I would really, really love to sue them, but, sadly, lawsuits are fucking expensive. Plus with the whole international aspect (since those guys are based in Switzerland) would make it even more so. It's probably not feasible for me.
Digital Ocean is a big company, they've got plenty of money for lawyers... we need to get somebody like them to sue the bastards for us.
u can't be sure. its their ip. they can change it to look like they are in switzerland

from what i think that isn't blackmail. they are ppl who try to extract money from you. might be some kind of scammer. and reality check i also started receiving emails from aw now but i had earlier muted it. meh seems gud
Maybe you're right, its technically more a kind of extortion than blackmail. Still whoever they are they can go kill themselves.

The email delivery problem is resolved as of today. If you use one of the Microsoft emails (Hotmail/Outlook/Live/Msn), our messages will arrive once again, but will probably be ending up in your spam folder for a while. If you get one and would be kind enough to click the "it's not spam" link that would help us out.
The underlying problem -- the UCEPROTECT assholes -- remains unchanged. They continue to block all Digital Ocean-hosted IP addresses -- all 2.5+ million of them, including ours. Unless/until somebody takes action against them, it's basically a cat-and-mouse game. Microsoft picks up our IP from the UCEPROTECT blacklist... we appeal to Microsoft to remove us... they remove us for like a day.... then they pick up our IP again and we're right back where we started.
This was becoming an intolerable situation, so, as much as I hated to do it, I moved our outgoing mails off to a different server, one not hosted at Digital Ocean. As a matter of principle it sucks, but as a practical matter it was the best choice. I don't have the time, money, or energy to start an international lawsuit right now against these Swiss UCEPROTECT scammers. Digital Ocean is a big company with lots of resources, I wish THEY would sick their lawyers on UCEPROTECT -- but it seems they don't care either. So here we are -- the scammers win, we moved our mails elsewhere. But at least our atWar users with Microsoft-powered emails (pretty much the only service that still had issues because of this) will be able to get messages from us again. /rant
Edit: if you sent us an email (or submitted something via our "Contact Us" form) and didn't get a reply... please try it again now that you'll actually receive our reply.
