So I have a big imagination, we all know that. But I actually had some cool idea in my mind which is a bit realistic too. - Wouldn't AW be more realistic when the troops (for example Infantry) when they are in Sierra Leon, Guinea, Liberia, and Congo, (African countries with Ebola virus) have a high chance of getting Ebola? With this they don't have much strenght to fight, they probably will lose vs a fitter infantry in 1v1 (1 infantry vs 1 infantry). Or for example in India alot of lepracity have been stated, so like maybe some troops have that disease? but then I think they should or just ''quit the job?'' Of course the world has bigger diseases in all kind of countries and continents. But just something like pink eye or herpes or cancer that you actually don't get from entering countries or climates but just from people or your whole way of living, I am not talking about those diseases. - Or if troops (any kind of troops) fight vs neutral/enemy, and at the end of the battle the remaining troops left have not 100% health/energy anymore, just something like 70/80% Not immidiatly to 50% because that can actually lead more harm than good. The troops will regain 50% health/energy when they stay 1 turn in a occupied city (when not moved), even if the city is in an enemy country or neutral country. Also I think the health/energy should be different when fighting infantry/militia/tanks etc. Since all troops have different deffense/attack. This is kinda the same as fifa has, im not saying to rip it off but its a perfectly fine upgrade to have it, or maybe to add for scenario map making atleast. I think implenting this idea is not impossible for a game like this and would definitly give it a different gameplay. since those diseases or health troubles could actually change the whole gameplay, and they appear randomly . But I understand this will take some time to actually implent and how to implent it. But only because it can actually take some time doesn't mean to not consider it! This whole idea is not to disrespect the countries which have those disease or something like that. It's just an option to make this gameplay more variable, because I noticed alot of people become bored when they start playing the same maps for a long time or same games. So these diseas and health/energy actuallly appear random and could make it or hard for you or more a challenge for you, its the way how you look at it. If you don't like changes you'd probably dislike this whole idea.

I support BUT only as an option, it will be nice ot have soldiers that are affected by their area of operation by various factors as, diseases, morale, weather, terrain etc.

Yeh maybe to start with map making options or just like upgrades disable/abled option. And maybe when it goes well to actually make it standard? I get that the second idea is actually a bit more good for the game than the second one.

How so? Just create a region the same way you create a country, and set traits to apply to that region. "Cold," "Mountains," etc. etc.

But if it only could be for map maker that means it also could be set on regular maps? So I don't see the point though. Like I said, I would understand that they would first try it as an option (so not standard) and look from that point what to do further with it.

Terrain, climate and if troops are outside a city or in a city (in a city does not loose health, actually can "refill batteries").

I mean, if I dominate Asia and I roll my entire army into Siberia, that army's going to suffer massive attrition. I find it a bit weird how there's no difference between stationing your troops in the nice and fertile Ukrainian black soil and the Siberian fringes of human habitability. Of course, this might be a bit tough to program.

You've said it your self, I think what I already offered is pretty hard to do though. thats why I took the bit now happening things. Not the big history parts, because if that was the case I could name an endless list with all horrible things that happened in the history. More what I meant was for example, russia/ukraine are verry snowy countries right? So your infantry might get cold fast and want breaks/or walk slower, that kind of things. To make it more alive and realistic.

There are so many other games that incorporate this already... one of the draws of AW is that the troop/strategy/economy aspects are simple enough, to have a fast paced game, but not so simple as to get dull after a few months (i describe it to people who ask as R!$k on steroids.) AW strikes a balance - so many players want to introduce complex concepts borrowed from other games to make it more like those games... my response is go play those complex, micro-management games, there's dozens of them. But AW is the only one i know that you can typically finish in a little over an hour or so without having to break out a spread sheet. Yes, troop health would be more realistic, but given you can create maps with countries that only produce certain weaker units, AW solves that problem, and battle weariness is resolved by diminished stack strength as you attack, so while it is not a separate 'troop health' variable, the effect is the same as the stack weakens. I don't know if you create maps Waffel, but i'd definitely play a scenario like what you propose when i am looking for a change from the standard games.

What about troop experience, i mean , a unit that have survived 5 battles could have a little bonus, +1 df or +1 atk it would not be that much since the units die pretty quick , but in closed battles those experienced units could make the difference

I dont know if you can actually read? But I actually put down all the countries I said with ebola. I never said all of Africa, but hey nice try! You know I get you, you come here and post useless things to actually ''hurt'' the thread only because I ''trolled'' (in your eyes) your '''threads'' Its kinda pathetic. You come here and quote people who say any kind of insult towards me with ''approvable'' smileys?, in worse case you even insult me lol. And then in game you come over to me and cry about me ''harashing'' you. Get lost man. it is inner pathetic. Just fyi, if you really want to become a moderator (its pretty obvious you trying to), you should actually put a mask on your comments too, since the mask doesn't cover all of your so ''gorgeous attitude''. Anyways if you want to become a mod, act like it and be sincerely, seems like alot of lack on those points. If you want to comment on my threads please let it be on-topic. If not than don't even bother commenting. Your mask will fall off eventually, and then I will wonder what kind of excuse you will use for that.

Hmm it sounds like a nice bonus though, but in worldgames that mostly last longer than 20+ turns won't it be TO op? Since at turn 10, for example its possible to get America full. with or without enemies. then America will be TO op compared to most of the other continent/players that hast conquor all. I think a upgrade like that would make this game bit more unbalanced . But thats my opinion, you can make a thread about it and maybe some people will actually like it ? Gl anyways.

I couldn't agree less with you though. But the thing is, as you said your self I like atwar like it is now too. Short games and long games, but I would (my opinion) actually like to have one of these updates, not only to make it more realistic, but mostly because it would give it more of a challenge. I am not a really 'great' map-maker, I made some presets about europe++ and stuff, idk how much plays exactly but were fun. The thing is I am pretty sure the maps would only get played if they were like ancient/RP/uN/other maps which give much SP. I don't like to and I dont HAVE the interest of making these kind of maps. I mostly like to make standard map layouts with some upgrades or something. And I am almost sure that won't be a big succes for people to play . But I can atleast try.

The game doesn't even account for troop morale at present so this seems to be asking for a lot more than has even begun to be worked on. Also I don't want this type of crap. I like the current "all things being considered equal" treatment of varying factors used presently.

Support, we shouldn't add new complicated mechanic to the game. The simplicity was one of the reason about why devs decides to not add new units, new bonus and new strategies. On Topic: This wont happen. Devs already dismissed many posts about terrain, climate, experience, etc.
