Game Over: Turn 5

Consul Aurum filibustered the senate phase and no major decisions could be made, this resulted in [9/9] unrest and the Roman republic gave itself away to the Mob.

If you want to see the results of turn 1-4 send me a Pr, i have all the statics and pictures.

Again you haven't built enough fleets to successfully attack anyone...
You need to destroy opposition navies before you can attack with land troops.

Darth said he knew how to play the game.. What a joke.

Build another 4 fleets then go for pirates
Pray no other wars occurr this turn
Elect someone from populares as consul with Fleo.. Someone who actually knows what they're doing not just someone in it for the status/control.

Any money not spent on games... Donate to Rome, don't buy knights. Need to avoid bankruptcy.

If you get through all this, make a policy not to build units until you need them, then build a safe amount to successfully attack opponents.in a single turn.

I don't remember saying I know how to play the game. As I recall it was gow who said that about me while nominating me for dictator...
I said we need to focus on building either fleets onavy, but the Senate voted for building both together....how is that my fault. Phoenix just stfu, before this I thought you were a nice guy. Now I find you're an immature hack who just can't bear to lose. Remember the 3v3?

Atleast you recognise that GoW talks bullshit to further his ambitions

What i said is that darth was invested in the game meaning he had like 100 pms with tunder to understand the game. why are you so bitter dude?
Also i clearly offered to make enough units when i was still alive and was going to prepose to attack the pirates the next turn.

You did not propose enough units

Ok i get it that you killed darth so he doesnt become dictator and gow because he was a consul... but why me

You elected GoW and Fleo with Darth in the first place and we wanted to reduce their voting power, you had 2 knights and were going for a 3rd.

Basically you did nothing to help the balance of power and "7 kings" (3 stooges more like) were In a position where they could win the game all by themselves unchallenged by turn 10.

well shit i only wanted rome to prosper and i thought we could do this by having one faction control it so the interests wouldnt change dramatically when another agent or factions takes over... and if you ask me we really needed this since the carthaginians grew very strong and on top of that the pirates..

Nah bro,

The argument for Darth being dictator was that he understood the game too.. He doesn't. Its just an excuse to control the game, they were never going to share control with others.

We were all better off not forming factions in the first place. The whole point of them is to hide money and plot... That's it.

Now forget all that shit, I still like you. But this game is about team effort, not one small team ruling the others... Everyone working together first... GOW forming a faction undermined that.

yeah i figured people would maybe get worried about a 7 people faction which also has 2 past consuls and 2 active consuls and nominated its own dictator...
eh this was only game i wont go on a witchhunt flaming you after this even if you were the one that called the assasination, i still like you too man

Its funny how you're only guy in that faction that sees this as a problem

I advise to nominate someone who hasn't been on some position yet. If we play this right, it wouldn't matter who's on top position because we'll do what we agreed to do. And the nominee get influence.

Killing us killed rome.

You're so big headed. Putting your faction above the rest of the senators killed Rome.

This isn't even good game yet

If the guys can display some team work and work out the units they need to be produced before proposing, they can get out of the shit they're in.

We must take care of the pirates this turn or the game will be over we need o/a 17 fleets and 7 legions

Look, I respect you, but you need to lighten up. I took the game seriously because I like this sort of thing and I was annoyed about the lack of strategic thought going into our actions, given we're in the AW forum.. we should be good at this. You do kiss GoWs ass way too much, try to think for yourself more. If Rome collapses, we can start fresh in a new game and come at this differently from t1.

Yeah here comes GoW everyone to "save the day". Fleo as part of your faction should have proposed the same thing but he didnt, thats what I'm referring to.

Don't act as if later in the game you wouldnt have ended with just the 7 of you.

When did i get "rekt"?

You didnt propose those units... you suggested them but didnt put it forward for a vote. You were more concerned with making members of you faction dictator and consul.
You didnt need to make a faction in the first place, thats my point, you dont need a faction. The moment you creat one you're asking for opposition, especially when you control all the powerful positions and can turn the game into your own little power orgy, doing what you wish to the rest of the players.

Edit: leo is your little minion, you could tell him what to do, but left him to make an inadequate amount of units. we need to destroy navy before land invasion, what navy can we destroy with 13 fleets vs 16 or 20?

You're telling me to lighten up? You're the one going on telling everyone what to do even though people are telling you to stfu since you're dead and can't tell them what to do.

Also, I'm kissing gow's ass way too much? I'd say I'm not, but people like you think that you need to be sucking someone's dick to support their opinion so there's no point arguing that with you any further.

I would love to and frankly Phoenix had a point in that. We didn't do it, because Rome doesn't have the income to support it. The Sicilian pirates offer a great way of increasing income and lands by conquering them. Already Rome is close to going bankrupt. Sure we kill Carthage, but then what? We can't support a fleet and legions that big.
Maybe if we can sell legions, we could make a navy of 30 ships and crush carth and pirates sea force together, then sell most of the fleet and build legions and transport them in the remaining ships...can that be done?

the idea is you save all your cash until the turn you intend to attack (that way running costs of units can be put towards more units later), build everything at once to the brink of bankruptcy and invade the same turn, you will lose some units and take over a province that provides income to offset the extra costs....

I don't really see that working since it's what Leo did right now. Rome is on the verge of bankruptcy right now. No what I thought of is attacking to reduce Fleet numbers. Build 5 fleets and attack. They all die, but pirates lose ships. Next turn build more fleets and repeat. Course this only works if pirates can't attack you in turn.

we could have afforded 17 fleet this turn... enough to have a shot vs pirates.
if we spent nothing turn 1 and built everything possible turn 2, we could have afforded 12 legions and 12 fleets for t3, if pirates appeared we could have afforded another 5/6 fleets for this turn to attack them now successfully.

You can't attack on the same turn as you build a fleet I don't think. You have to pay upkeep for that many armies and fleets for one turn which will outstrip our income.
