You guys are confusing adding new admins with actual game development. Giving people admins rights won't fix all the bugs or finish the map editor.
a lot players offered help with coding so why there is no new programmer until know ?

Oh well..
The point of this strike was to get a reaction from the admins, clearly nothing will ever get done like this. .As we saw from amoks reply.
Mauzer remove me from the strike list.
Ill try to play the game dont care how it is anymore.
Cw?

I would suggest using https://bitmitigate.com/, it provides perfect DDoS protection. It's worth a shot. (It's also free)

If they feel they have the legitimacy to genuinely control the game, won't they be motivated to develop it, find funds, ideas, etc...
What u did when u had time and energy for it ?
Having admin rights is not the same as writing the code and updating a game. These are two completely separate things. We don't have the money to pay an experienced programmer, and an experienced programmer(s) is what atWar needs.

This is so inspirational.
Let us know about the game development.
I just have made so many posts about this but i am not a programmer..just a entusiast. But this message is a good thing.
What about talk about the tecnologies that atwar-game works? Unity? C#?
What about to create a topic here www.workana.com to make a budget about the game? So many programmers there are here. I yet had already posted a topic asking for prices to a game like atwar-game.
About prices? One of the programmers estabilished R$ 7000 reais (about $3500 dollars) to make a "atwar-game" from 0 (zero) in Unity.
To finalize the map editor I think that cost less.
If you open the code to the community, good things can happen.
Thanks.

They are right, u communicate your depression .
I understand there is many arguments that push for a statu quo.
But why not give it a try ?
Cause apparently u don't have time to fix the things anymore, for example find a programmer, why not just give someone the task to do so, and impulse a new energy in the project by giving full rights to some people ?
The situation is that the game need to get a new vision, there is many people who stands to continue your effort and seems to have ideas, they just don't feel they have the power and the legitimacy.
I said the essential of what i had to say, now i let u think about it, with an open mind i hope.
Good evening, and thanks for having this game made, i know customer aren't generally grateful.

Im going to defend amok here for a moment, Developing a game is a skill, admin privilages does not make someone a developer, He said hes busy i get that, nothing we can do about it, what im asking is why dont you finally allow outside volunteers to help you? Ivan said you guys where working on it but that was now months ago. If you cant finish what you started for any reason, you atleast owe it to us to find someone who will, through selling the game or whatever other avenue you choose, you cant just leave it like this, and not give us a time when you will be able to finish it.

We are under a sustained DDoS attack at the moment, which we can't do anything about. Our server provider already offers DDoS protection as standard, but this is not enough, as we've been witnessing. You can strike all you want, but the fact is we simply don't have enough resources to mitigate this. Same goes for code updates and updates in general. I myself personally, have close to zero time to spend on the game development at this moment of my life. Ivan is similar. We've been working tirelessly on this game for over 5 years, which had a big effect on our social lifes (mine certainly). We've got families, kids, you know. It came to a point when it's just not doable anymore. I still do believe we have achieved a lot, being such a small team and working on the game in our spare time. So strike all you want, but remember that in reality it's all quite trivial. Unless someone offers us good money to buy the game or to help us work on it and on the fixes - it will remain as it is (at least for now). Which is still an perfectly playable game when we're not being DDoS'ed (yes, there's the map editor problem, we know, but still). By the way, whoever is doing it, I struggle to understand your motives. Where is the fun in ruining people's playing experience? I will never get this.
people ddos for this game being shit with shit mods dude... there is no fun with the same cancer people and same cancer servers and playing the same kind of game for 5 years with (almost) same fucking cancer mods.... whoever ddos it got banned from the game, because of the cancer mods that banning for stupid reasons(using black color ect...) and had enough...

atwars problem goes beyond the current ddos deal...
they need a plan long term, either to be commited or to sell the game

Find programers.
Some programmer entusiat of the game works for free?
Where to find a programmer and how it costs?
I found programmers from Brazil and India here: www.workana.com that told me that could make a atwar-game. The majority in Unity.
About R$ 7000 reais ($3500 dollars) to a good programmer experienced in Unity.
But i dont had the money
Its about to find programmers and to know the costs.
Thanks!

Great, then now instead of complaining skilled players should suggest an operative plan to revive this game.
At least, in the first place, try to stop those attacks.
But the thing is it must be a global refunding, information to players, new mods etc... occasional volunteering will just scattered the energies.
it's your responsability to call for such general politic u're the only one with the legitimacy.

I have seen more than once players offering their help in the forum. Just make a thread and ask who can help. I am sure you will find the one you needs. I guess it's not easy to trust someone you don't know to do critical thing but Some of atWar main bugs and problems are'nt even that big you just need someone to pay attention. you can even have Sun Tsu as supervisor.
Here are some suggestions for programmers in the community that i know of:
clovis1122
hdrakon
blackcock69
Cthulhu
Lenny Mclenny
Again. if you really are interested in help you can let the community know about it and find someone decent

I love your game, you obviously did a great job with it and i am grateful i spend so much of my time here, as i enjoyed it dearly and consider the money i spent well deserved. Thank you for this.
That being said i am a nerd for logical flaws and arguments that dont hold up, like the ones you offered. You guys having kids, dogs, wives and stuff is great and all but frankly we dont care, its non of our business since we are not friends. This is a business, you are selling something that people buy or rent, emphasis on the present term as you are still selling it. And since you are still selling it you should be able to do at least some minimal maintenance and i cant believe that someone doesnt have the time to log to his own game once per week to check how things are.
If i were you i would either :
- Find the time to fix the basic bugs and map maker and then say your goodbyes
- Make all the game options free and leave everything on auto-pilot
- Consider hiring one or two young programmers who will work for coffee and apple pie just so they can have this on their resume and have them occasionally fix bugs and etc maybe try the mapmaker
- Sell the game and since its obvious you lack the time/energy/motivation to adequately handle this, maybe make a public announcement with an approximate price and the community can spread the word.
If you dont do any of the above that probably means this is still/can be, a successful business for you and that means we should probably see you more often Amok

1. Re-read my first reply
2. I'm sure that would make people who spent money on premium very happy /s
3. Trouble with young programmers who work for coffee is they make more mess that actual work
4. Public announcement would do no good, but we're always open to offers

What is your solution to this may I ask? Leave the game for another year whilst people who paid money for premium and who actually enjoy the game cant even log on?
