You know there are more civilized methods of getting what you want instead of ruining the game experience of the players. I'll still be making maps!

"So everyone, let's take down the older, original, and valuable maps, and allow the spotlight to shine on mapmakers who make copies or worse maps just to stop some trolls from leaving!" I mean seriously, what will this prove? A ban on continually leaving players? There's a reason mapmakers put up "ban" lists to warn players about trolls who mess with their games. Maybe make these lists more significant so people can notice them more on the maps and see who should be playing and who shouldn't, rather than a shutdown of all maps that will only give worse mapmakers and the trolls who leave ,ore publicity?

Atwar depends on custom. Its growth and selling point. Depriving this incentive gets not only attention but demands change. Trolls have been killing games for a long time and recently its got out of control. As I said before, this was our last resort. After 4 remakes of a WWII Focus game, each game took 30-40mins to fill. On turn 1, a player left each time to ruin our game. These players mocked us for waiting and did all of this in front of a moderator, openly. No proper action was taken against them. This cannot go on. There is a reason most mapmakers and players are untied on this issue. It affects us all. Its an important issue, the most important one. The fact you are unhappy and expressing your unhappiness at the suddenly stripping of content shows the strike is working as intended.

What? Scenarios are being taken down? That means players actually have to play default maps and might actually learn something instead of playing crappy scenarios :0 I say this strike is a good thing. I hope admins don't respond at all. The fact that RP alone was taken down will help the future players of atwar tremendously.

Alright, so say that we get the community in an uproar, and force the moderators to broker a deal on how to combat trolls from leaving. What exactly do you think would be appropriate solution to that? And when do you believe it would be implemented into the game?

He already suggested that he would like to see in-map ban lists created for custom maps which I am sure the majority of mapmakers would lay down their strike if the admins promised to add it.

Don't mapmakers already have that ability? Or is he talking about a ban system where the mapmakers would put a name into the "list" and they would be forcibly removed from any games they try to join of that scenario?

A list which allows map creators to prevents certain palyers from playing their maps/scenarios. Ban lists arent enforceable. When I had the time, I could enforce it but the only incentive for players to enforce it other than to prevent trolls was the threat of map unpublish. Im tired of giving that threat and I dont want to keep punishing players. I also cant keep track of every map I make nor can I even stop players ruining games I even admin. Last week proved that. With each remake, less people want to play to the point where games get a reputation of unplayability. Games that filled with ease now never fill or get ruined within the first few turns. Actual punishment for ruining peoples games. The fact that Cthullu claims that unless player admits his intention to troll then mods cant do anything shows how ridiculous moderation is becoming. We give silly heavy handed punishments for minor issues but allow game ruining issues untouched. Those responsible for last weeks trolling, with moderator witness, to be held accountable and punished properly for what they did. They continue to downplay the issue for good reason. If they were not trolls, they wouldnt be here trolling to prevent justice. A moderator along with 13 eye witnesses can prove what they did. They deserve a proper punishment. Implementation of proper moderation against game ruiners and in-built ban list on maps shouldnt be difficult. Its a healthy and revenue increasing change. Less trolls = actual decent and playable games = better incentive for more content = more content = bigger incentive to buy premium to play content = more revenue = more growth Continuation of trolls = lesser desire to play = lesser incentive to create content = less content = less incentive to buy premium = less revenue No drawbacks to this. Its a sound business model to preserve and grow the better parts of the community and to punish the worse parts that seek to hurt the better parts.

No, the issue isn't RP Is the player base, if atwar had a good player base RP won't exist, since RP is hided, the RP player base will quit , and with them the revenue that they provide. The player base that remains will move to other sources of role play or quit too. In the end, you won't get more 3vs3, only less high ranks.

Let's get this straight: UN and RP existed before custom maps. Ally-fags,backstabbers and trolls existed too. What makes you think that this strike is gonna make the noobs go into competitive games? Lmao u are delusional. If you want proof of how the majority of the high ranks don't care to train low ranks, go check focks's proposal and see how it got turned down. Nevertheless, this topic is about how trolls ruin scenarios over and over again: even in front of mods, and we want justice.

I totally agree. Tik believes that he is in a position of power who is all deserving of every request because he wastes his time creating maps for about 50 other people who play the same map 1000 times. Because of this attitude he has began to tear this fragile community apart and forcing people (mapmakers) to pick a side. Tik-Tok, Unleashed, all of you need to walk away from the front of your computer and take a visit outside for once in your lives. Maybe get a job or a friend to occupy your time and try doing something productive rather than get so caught up in a web browser game. Not that Im not a fan of this strike. Obviously I am. Though not for the reasons most of you mapmakers have for supporting this. But you should re-evaluate your attitudes (and your life for that matter) and learn when to stop thinking you are deserving of something even when you contribute to something.

Oh for the love of god, lelouch just apologise and stop trolling games you dont like, youve become the proverbial straw to this problem, and here you are in this thread making things worse. i support this strike of theirs, some stronger punishment should be inflicted on the assholes that join games that take time and patience to fill soley to troll and ruin them. it certainly wouldnt do any harm for some reevaluation to those rules. and im dissappointed fock to see you here as part of the problem. dislike tiktok for his personal views or whatnot but too few mapmakers are capable of making a fun/interesting map with some level of balance or perfect imbalance. and tik is probably one of them best of them. These guys dedicate their time to making these maps for the rest of us. whether you appreciate this or not, it is perfectly within their rights to demand respect is given to the gameplay and players of these maps. and its worth noting that those in this thread dismissive of this strike are mainly those who dont play scenarios/custom maps, are part of the problem for which this strike was started, or have personal issues with the mapmakers themselves.

Tik-Tok, your original post begins with "Negotiations failed. Its time to go on strike." - that seems strange to me, since I've never heard of this issue before and certainly didn't have any negotiations. You should remember that Mods cannot resolve anything that requires coding, and apparently this issue cannot be fixed simply by moderation. Cthulhu is right, unless the players admits to trolling, there's not much to be done - people have a legitimate reason to quit the game sometimes.
We have decided to create such a list. Hopefully it would help.

You have to think of the consequences that comes with this, and how easily it can be used as a trolling mechanism. This will single handedly make some players with those legitimate reasons for leaving losing out on one of there favorite scenarios or map. Also, how the already current trolls can completely abuse this against players that they just simply don't like. I think this will cause more problems in the future then how many problems it can fix right now.
