Maybe socially constructed facts? (Not questioning the facts, just asking why and how they were constructed.) Maybe men are in more "productive" and, thus, "profitable" jobs? Maybe women were (are?) allowed in certain jobs? Or relegated to certain "unproductive" (less profitable) jobs? Maybe women had/have less access to resources like capital and job-related capacity-building?
Actually this is not true. This matter (of caring for children, people with diabilities, sick people and/or elderly people) is NOT done voluntaryly by women; this role is relegated to women. As if there is a natural order to it... and then comes the additional argument: since you are earning less money then your (male) partner, you stay at home and take care of these issues. What about single mothers? In some countries this portion is about 25-35% of all children are raised by single mothers. How about that?
It is only possible to reach to this conclusion when making the division of productive and reproductive labor and the fundamental role women have in the reproductive (unpaid) economy. Please check the discussion on gender gap held a couple of years ago in Iceland, when the parliament declared illegal to pay less to women. Iceland is the only country, so far, that has declared fight on gender pay gap.

when you compare men and women who work the same job, there is no "Gender pay gap". If there is, you can sue them/bring them to court. I sure would, doing it Left, right and center. If a man and woman go for an interview for the same, the man wont get answered with "Yes, because you are a male, you get paid more" and the female with, "Yes, because you are female you will be getting paid less" That's not how it works. When regarding overall statistics, it would be coming down to part time jobs, different job, time off sick and positions in the jobs. In my last 3 jobs, the Women where at the top. Not the men...The Women. I'm sure they got paid more. And I'm certain they earned it too. When talking about the pay gap, it's has nothing to do with "Because you "are" this" it's "Because you are "doing" this"

According to my last four jobs, I'm right. If that was a real scenario, people could sue that company.

Discriminating I guess? If a company is paying more based on someones gender, I'm sure you could bring them to court and/or sue them.

I wouldn't say so, maybe, but I don't think so. As noone could have evidence for that, while having a pay slip is solid evidence while the other is just word of mouth.

Wtf is this about, different wages in capitalism? Even Soviet Union had different wages and it was the first socialist country... Can we please finally agree that those people pushing this agenda are not leftists, but something else (god knows what, i don't want to find out), they just make me more nostalgic for good old communist times.

Indeed, gender equality isn't a leftist "agenda". It is an emancipatory position, which most of the so-called leftists - like you - don't support, since it undermines their (¿your?) priviledged position. For more information, just read the latest report on gender gap by the World Economic Forum (WEF), which is definitely NOT a leftist institution. https://www.weforum.org/reports/the-global-gender-gap-report-2018

The gender pay gap beyond being a near total fabrication is such a meme issue. I mean even if it were true that women were getting paid less for the same work on a systemic scale you're still completely missing the bigger picture. We call it liberating western women from the patriarchy to put down motherhood and promote childless wageslavery. No matter that the doubling of the labor supply drives down wages and destroys the bargaining power of the working class. No matter that the two income family forces mothers away from their children in order for families to afford basic needs and get a chance at a good education for their kids. Kids who will be raised in facilities by paid hands, caged to screens enjoying a diet of processed foods rather than a homecooked meal. No matter that studies show women are far less happy and show less life satisfaction as they "win" economic "freedoms". Whatever it takes to get a female CEO right? Whatever is good for big business must be progress.

How do Marxists not see that this is a capitalist venture? The Iceland law simply will not work. Something similar was attempted in Sweden and actually created more division. There are less women in STEM as a direct result of progressive tampering. Men work more hours, do more overtime and are more willing to demand a better wage. They are also more willing to take risks by threatening to leave work in order to get better pay. Men are more willing to doing more dangerous jobs and low-quality work. 99% of garbage men, sewer cleaners and vegetable pickers are men. Most trade skills are done by men. This is a biological imperative and cannot be combated. Vigorous testing on youngsters show men are more inclined to prefer 'things' to 'people'. Even male chimps prefer fire trucks while female chimps prefer dolls. Claiming this is a social construct ignores hundreds of thousands of years of biological-based gynocentric protectionism. The inevitable result of these policies will result in companies paying men less. This is why 'Woke Capital' are pushing this. Feminists even advocate this. It will not lead to higher wages but lower wages. You can't honestly think that companies are going to raise wages? Wages have been at an all time low for a decade despite overwhelming profits and growth. Both men and women should be paid more, but women simply do not work as hard as men nor do they do the jobs men do. None of this takes into account the growth of automation which will wipe out many of the jobs women do. Don't even bring up single parenthood, that shouldn't even be happening and wouldn't be if social policies weren't so utterly wrecked by progressive philosophy.
