Bug Report Expected behavior According to common sense with almost a decade of atWar gaming experience, and WD's (outdated?) battle spreadsheet (https://atwar-game.com/forum/topic.php?topic_id=39894&topicsearch=&page=1) if I send one more infantry unit to a city than the garrison of militia (f.e. 6 inf against 5 mil) I have a chance of success ranging from 89% to 97%, in theory (slightly decreasing with higher garrison count maybe?). This is all with no upgrades whatsoever, and assuming that the infantry units have 4 attack (default). Defense works well as far as I know, this bug refers to attack only. Actual behavior Despite of several tests (and hundreds of hours spent in atWar combat mechanism) my success rate in each of these battles is around 50%. This is very odd, pointed out by Karlo, Jugers, Gust, myself and numerous other players with quite high elo and rank, in the last few days. Steps to reproduce the behavior Play my account or my alt account on the world map, try to expand with any units (the attachments are mostly tests with infantry but as I noticed it's similar with every unit in every map). Sidenote: JUGERS2 player and his alt also have this issue, since about 1 month, like me. Information: Browser: Chrome Browser version: 91.0.4472.164 OS: Win10 x64 Any other relevant information: The bug persists on Explorer, Edge and Firefox too, I have also tried on mobile (Android: OxygenOS 10.0.11) and it's the same, therefore since I'm experiencing this for about a month, I believe not only one browser version is touched. I gave the login of my account to someone trusted and he also experienced the bug. I have reset my upgrades for 490PC and the bug was not gone. It makes the game so unplayable that I did not test with anything else, only infantry against neutrals. Is this a serious bug report, or are you just trolling? I'm aware that before posting this bug report, you spent several days trying to convince people there was some conspiracy causing you to get bad rolls (and blaming me for it). Besides this you already have a long history of making up stories about things "Dave did" or things "Dave said", which never actually happened. Both of these facts together make me think you are probably just trolling. (I figure the probability of this to be about 80%) That being said, I am aware of at least one other case where a player was getting impossible rolls. In that case he was getting rolls in a positive direction, i.e. he was winning battles that should have been mathematically impossible to win. So it's possible there could be a bug somewhere causing it (we all know there's plenty of bugs in atWar, so nothing surprises me), OR it could be -- more likely in my opinion -- some new kind of hack that I haven't been able to figure out yet. I've been looking into the latter possibility since the case I mentioned, and I've been logging extra information from each game in hopes of catching it. So for the 20% chance this is a real report I'll leave it open... maybe it is related to the other case I mentioned. When I have some time I plan to go through the logs in detail anyway and see if I can figure out how the hack is done (assuming its a hack). Otherwise, if it is just a bug, then I'm sure I'll find it eventually, but it will probably be difficult since its so hard to reproduce. (For example, I have not been able to reproduce anything like this on any of my accounts, so either its very rare, or its specific to certain accounts.)

It may has been a bit too complicated or too long while you were quickly reading through the forum sir, so let me contrast it here once again, shortly. I'm getting irrelevant rolls on any OS, any IP, any device, and it is SPECIFICALLY RELATED to my account. When I tried to create a new account, or "played as a guest", this problem did not occur at all. It also happens on my alt account, which I barely even play on, I just eventually tested with that as a secondary debug option if the bug persists (yes it did). I assume this info will be useful to find the bug. On the other hand, let me respond to the personal part in the middle... It's entertaining how you reversed my apparent logic and established an own conspiracy theory as well ("assuming its a hack"). Hopefully you weren't serious cause that would ruin the fun. Imagine being deeply mad about a negative event that happened to you and blaming a specific person for it, but then the man who you held grudges for, suddenly contradicts your statements by blaming you for causing trouble for yourself, while it was a third participant's fault, who is laughing in the background.  And if you really think I'm trolling, try to imagine that I'm a fat, selfish, virgin internet troll with no job, no family, and my only joy in life is revolved around beating low rank players with my superior upgrades and experience in a browser strategy game, which - ultimately - might increase my libido in the process, too. If you believe this, you are good to go. Otherwise I can't help it but tell you the truth, it is a serious bug report... Whatever, good luck fixing the bug, you have my public apology if you do so

I have had issues with rolls as well, and I even messaged Dave, didn't go in depth testing on alt, ip whatnot, it may be just bad rolls as well, but would love further investigation if it's possible to hack rolls

@ Dave, So i tested with Daisy (and Jugers), and there is definitely something going on with Daisy's rolls. (Jugers test was within normal limits, so i think it's specific to Daisy and perhaps a handful of people.) 35 straight rolls on 3 cities... (swiss, and lux), 2 inf vs 1 militia... ALL of them ones, for a total of 35x3= 105 consecutive rolls of one, before i ended the test. It didn't matter if Daisy attacked neutral militia or opponent militia, Daisy's attacking rolls were all '1s'. Both of us used 'NONE' strat... i was having no issue and was rolling normally. Just another piece for you... ♥

Go into your units and strategies page and select none strat and check My Gen Strat and Include My Upgrades, ss the entire page please. Go into your upgrades page and check if you have any strange upgrades.

As you can see on the image above, no. On top of that I changed these settings multiple times since I've started experiencing the bug, plus I even reset my upgrades once for 490 PC if I remember correctly.

how often are you getting these 1 rolls if you played 3 games with germany and they all expanded to the same countries with the same # of units do they all fail 50% of the time?

Update January 2022, nearly 9 months after noticing the bug. I skipped so much of the game, I barely remember how to make a triangle wall. Everything seems to be the same (= not in order, bug persists). This time done with France. Non strat, gen in Czechia.  Therefore I wouldn't like to break the bug report format, but I must talk about an (important) additional event here, from the near past. Few weeks before Christmas, Sid and Witch Doctor asked me to try to change my username, email, password, profile picture, general's image, etc., and reset my upgrades for 490 PC (asked twice, 980 total). It did not seem to work either, my bug has not been resolved. Later Witch Doctor came up with an unofficial solution that the atwar staff can theoretically provide me a new account. Few days later I asked them if this thing is applicable in practice, for both my main and alt account, then I'm not going to ask to refund my 980 PC, nor make any further special request. This all happened on Sid's private discord server. Without getting a response though, I got banned and none of the staff contacted me since then. 2 weeks ago I received this image from someone, hence I logged in to post this whole message.  I am purposefully not going to elaborate how childish this thing actually is, even without context. I will not file a complaint or anything similar against Witch Doctor and Sid, assuming that they banned me for breaking the server's rules for example and they're not helping me with this roll bug because of their personal issues with me.  On top of that, it did not happen in the game itself, which makes it uncomplainable. Whatever the reason is, I'm still looking forward to receive help from you guys as you may know I have spent money on this account, also got an alt, and the game is unplayable on both of them right now. P.S.: After my ban from Sid's discord server I logged in atwar and Sascha asked me about this account cloning method once, but this is all help I received from the staff in the past 9 months. Feel free to come up with ideas like the server seed being stuck or contact me with WD's idea of creating a new account, cloning my actual one. Cheers.

First of all, you gotta realize this discord that you bring up here is not an official atwar discord or anything like that. The reason why you got kicked from there is probably because of some stuff you said on there but it was nothing related to atwar. So please don't make it look like we have something against you. I can only speak for myself here ofc but I'm pretty sure the other guys see it the same way. The last time I spoke to you trying to help in this matter I'm pretty sure you just went offline while I was trying to talk to you. After that it just seemed to me you weren't interested in finding a solution... and correct me if I'm wrong this happened obviously months ago and I might be wrong but that's how I remember it. I would suggest we keep that crap in the past tho and if you are actually interested in fixing this issue pm me please and we will start from there.

Agree with Sascha. I spent a lot of time on this already. i'll summarize again. yes, there is something going on. i tested personally with Daisy and there is no doubt ... However, this is the only account in AW i am aware reporting this problem, and Daisy's alts and other accounts are not affected. Solution: play on another account. Aside: i spoke to Dave about this, and apparently Dave also spent a lot of time sincerely helping Daisy early on, until the breakdown in respect. Dave won't waste any more time trying to fix. Daisy knows this, and at this point it's more of a soft troll with these reports. I think it's time to lock. Daisy, you can message me personally so i can explain it again if you truly aren't getting what the issue is.

Just to put a conclusion on this one -- this proved to be a complete waste of time. After going back in the logs, we discovered Daisy was playing Guerilla Warfare in order to get his "bad" inf rolls. He was actually using GW in the games where he demonstrated the "problem" to brianwl. So the whole thing, from start to end, was a hoax. Why people get kicks out of wasting our time like this, I'll never know. But there it is.
